Mr Chang has nearly 20 years of corporate banking and risk management experiences with large international and Chinese banks. Since the 1990s, he has held various positions with HSBC and Citi in the US, Korea, mainland China and the Macau/Hong Kong regions. His previous roles included Corporate Banking Manager, Trade Services Head, Electronic Banking Dept Head, Senior VP of Payments Systems Risk Management, Director of Risk Management in Trade and Cash Products, Director of Risk Management in Private Banking, Capital Market Approval Committee Coordinator, Citi Korea Board of Directors Risk Management Committee Secretary, etc. Between 2008 and 2013, Mr Chang was seconded to China Guangfa Bank (total asset USD280 billion at end of 2015) as a Citi consultant to revamp risk processes, establish product management structure, review large credit and capital market transactions and advice CRO on wealth management, corporate loan and capital market products.
Since March 2013, Mr Chang has become a full time training facilitator and consultant in the financial industry. He has conducted numerous professional training sessions on risk management, financial products and business development to financial institutions worldwide including Citibank, HSBC, China Guangfa Bank, Guangfa Securities, China Bohai Bank, Bank of Jiangxi, and various city commercial banks, rural credit unions, guarantee companies and leasing companies. His classes have been held in many parts of the world including USA, China, Spain, Turkey, Taiwan, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, etc. He also serves as an IFC expert on risk management consulting projects.
Mr Chang is able to merge the advanced technical skills from the international financial industry with the domestic market reality into his training. Using his interactive and humorous guided discussion approach, together with international and local real cases, he can put theories and practices into one, allowing participants to learn in a fun, interactive atmosphere and apply the learning right in class as well as in daily practices.
Mr Chang has an MBA degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is a CFA charter holder. Having lived in New York, Seoul, Osaka, London and Guangzhou, he speaks fluent English and Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese). Mr Chang is currently living in the USA and dedicating his full time in consulting and training on risk management, financial products and business development worldwide.
